Fact of the Day: Elvis
Elvis Presley's first single was released in 1954, "That's All Right
(Mama)" with a flip side of "Blue Moon of Kentucky." He was 19 and he
recorded it with Guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black. It was
previewed on the radio two days after it was recorded and listeners
went wild for it. The Lord of the Rings first part, The Fellowship of
the Ring, was published by J.R.R. Tolkein on this day in 1954, too.
